Getting Your Garden Certified

Sustainable Landscape Practices by Lincoln Landscaping of Franklin Lakes

At Lincoln Landscaping we promote sustainable landscaping; and that encompasses many aspects within gardening as well as landscaping. Sustainable landscaping also entails that you are providing wildlife with food, water, and shelter through the usage of native plants and by use of landscaping practices.

Wildlife Habitat Certification - Lincoln Landscaping IncFor those who also promote sustainable landscaping themselves, the National Wildlife Federation has a program that allows you to certify your backyard as a recognized wildlife preserve. It costs $20 to get certified and the money goes to making the Earth more green and benefiting all wildlife.

How it Helps Wildlife

Every habitat garden is step toward replenishing resources for wildlife locally and along migratory corridors.

Your application processing fee of $20 supports the National Wildlife Federation’s programs to inspire others to make a difference and address declining habitat for bees, butterflies, birds, amphibians and other wildlife nationwide.

A portion also supports work for local wildlife in select Affiliate partner states.

By adding pollinator and monarch friendly plants when you certify your wildlife garden with National Wildlife Federation, it also gets counted towards the Million Pollinator Garden Challenge.

If you’re interested in donating, go to Garden For Wildlife at the National Wildlife Federation’s site.
