Montclair N.J. Landscaping Makeover
This landscape makeover in Montclair New Jersey greatly enhanced the “curb appearance” of this residential dwelling. Drab and lacking color and having overgrown evergreen shrubbery placed randomly, this home was more or less an eyesore to behold.
We initially cleaned out the existing beds and removed everything growing within the beds and then tilled the soil and amended it with an organic mixture we utilize to enhance micor-organism growth within the soil, providing a rich organic growing medium for our plants.
We chose to add color, texture and form to these beds utilizing pinks, blues, shades of gray and hues of yellows and oranges using flowering hydrangeas for summer bloom, azaleas for spring color and planted perennials some of which were Russian Sage complimented with Coreopsis. We also used astilbes and mixed in some dusty miller annuals for accent. Knock Out Roses planted in the front bed for a dramatic accent and then used to line the driveway retaining wall where the rose colors contrasted nicely with the block of the retaining wall. Winter color will be provided by the Yews with their fine evergreen leaf and growth habit.
There are a million and one ways to add curb appeal, but your home’s landscaping is one of the most important. Clumsy, neglected, and hodgepodge landscaping not only hurts your home’s curb appeal, it can cut the value of your property and make it harder to sell.
